I guess we'll never actually know why the chicken crossed the road. Until the scientists build that Large Chicken Collider.

Which brings us neatly onto our question in the c series, I have a sciency one for you this time.
How do you convert degrees Celsius to degrees Kelvin?

Change around a few letters?

youdont12know, September 21st, 2008, 11:30 am

-273

Phoenix of Chaos, September 21st, 2008, 1:07 pm

Actually, you do it by ADDING 273. That'll take you from Degrees c to K.

SuperBiasedMan, September 21st, 2008, 1:11 pm

Correct! 15 points go to Phoenix of Chaos (technically it's 273.15 though, but I wont be that specific).
That means BK still has a slight lead at 20 but Phoenix of Chaos is catching up with 15!

degree Celsius = kelvin - 273.15

i was right.

Phoenix of Chaos, September 22nd, 2008, 6:38 am

Technically, yes, but he was asking from Degrees c to K. You did K to degrees c.

youdont12know, September 22nd, 2008, 9:40 am

celcius is higher!

SuperBiasedMan, September 22nd, 2008, 12:11 pm

It's confusing, but bear with me.
0 degrees Kelvin is the equivalent of -273 degrees Celsius (absolute zero).
So to convert -273 Celsius to Kelvin you add 273, making it 0.

Alternatively wikipedia it like I did when I was double checking the answer :P :
