Yay Electric Melon celebrated it's birthday yesterday in the traditional way. By not updating or having any kind of special events.

Today's question is brought to you by the letter obscure:
Explain as best you can the principle behind rainbows and their formation.
Bonus points to give an interesting fact about rainbows (super bonus if I don't know it already).

from the pm.

As BowserKnight said, light refracts through droplets of moisture. Not a very interesting fact, but about 2 years ago, a lady saw a rainbow in her sprinkler, and thought the city officials were poisoning the water supply, and that the water was really turning the colors of a rainbow. *facepalm*

Also, is this comic a reference to The Office, when Michael says, "Presents are the best way to show someone how much you care. It's like this tangible thing, the you can point to and say, 'Hey man, I love you, this many dollars worth'."?

just for the bonus:
rainbows are also known to emerge from the bellies of the care bears.

Yes Bowserknight has the basic idea.
I was kind of looking for the idea of light wavelengths... but that's slightly advanced physics.
He also gets bonus points for the rainbows are actually circles. Interesting point, you can actually possibly see a full circle rainbow if you're in a plane (obviously under specific conditions)

10 points!
